FIA immigration reports successful crackdowns, arrests, and passport frauds at Karachi Airport

In a comprehensive annual performance report released by the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) Immigration Karachi, notable achievements were highlighted, showcasing the agency’s effectiveness in processing international passengers, thwarting criminal attempts, and enhancing security measures at Jinnah International Airport. The report covered various aspects, including the successful processing of millions of passengers, arrests of suspects involved in serious crimes, and the prevention of passport fraud.

Passenger Processing at Karachi Airport

Throughout the year 2023, FIA Immigration displayed commendable efficiency in managing international arrivals and departures at Karachi Airport. The agency processed a staggering 3.23 million passengers, ensuring a smooth flow of travelers through the airport’s immigration procedures. Arrests and Vandalism Operations

The FIA Immigration Karachi played a pivotal role in maintaining law and order at Jinnah International Airport. Notably, the agency successfully apprehended suspects wanted for serious crimes during vandalism operations. Despite attempts by some individuals to flee the country, the FIA’s vigilant efforts led to the arrest of 32 suspects upon their return, while 37 who attempted to escape abroad were apprehended during their exit from the airport.

Preventing Passport Frauds

One of the key achievements outlined in the report is the agency’s commitment to combating passport fraud. FIA officials disclosed that during the year, 57 passengers were arrested for using counterfeit documents, and 36 foreigners were apprehended for illegally using Pakistani passports. The individuals involved in such activities had obtained Pakistani passports through forgery and fraud, highlighting the necessity of robust measures to safeguard the integrity of travel documents.

Success Against Fake Visas and Tampered Passports

In a significant move to enhance border security, FIA Immigration prevented the entry of passengers with fake visas, tampered passports, and counterfeit stamps. A total of 42 passengers were arrested for arriving in Pakistan under false pretenses, showcasing the agency’s commitment to identifying and apprehending those attempting to manipulate travel documentation.
