A major scandal involving the sale of fake medicines has been exposed across Sindh, including Karachi.
The Drug Testing Laboratory has confirmed the presence of fake medicines in various parts of Sindh, including Karachi, exposing a dangerous racket in the pharmaceutical sector.
According to Head of the Drug Testing Laboratory, Adnan Rizvi, medicines from seven fake companies were found to be counterfeit.
“The companies whose medicines were seized do not exist. The manufacturers of fake medicines are playing with human lives,” he warned, urging strict action under the Drug Act.
A shocking report by the Provincial Drug Testing Laboratory further revealed that over 100 medicines, including common and life-saving drugs, were found to be substandard.
The report stated that many medicines lacked the required active ingredients, making them ineffective and dangerous for public health. Authorities are now under pressure to take immediate action against those responsible for the production and distribution of fake medicines, as the crisis poses a severe health risk to the people of Sindh.
