The College Education Department (CED) has digitized the student attendance system by introducing online attendance in the colleges of Sindh.
Dr Qasim Rajpar, Deputy Director of Colleges Sindh said that the Sims QR code-based Android application has been developed to take daily attendance of students and save records in the college.
He said that the process of online attendance of students has started in 343 colleges across Sindh and only students with 75% attendance will be allowed to take the annual exam.
He said that on the instructions of Sindh Education Minister Syed Sardar Ali Shah, under the supervision of the Secretary College Education Department Khalid Haider Shah, the system of online attendance of students has been successfully introduced on a trial basis in various colleges across the province. On behalf of the teachers, the electronic attendance of the students was also taken in Government Degree Girls College Gulistan-e-Johar Block 12.
Dr Qasim Rajpar says that after the official launch, this app will be available on Google Play Store. This system has been successfully designed and tested in various colleges to maintain attendance.
Director Colleges Sindh has said that this system will also share the attendance of students with their parents. This way, parents can stay informed regularly with attendance data and students’ B-form numbers and roll numbers will also be available on the app. (SECCAP) will be the responsibility of the college principal to create staff accounts, and the application can be used to track student attendance.
