Chicken prices soar as Eid-ul-Fitr approaches in Karachi

As Eid-ul-Fitr approaches, citizens in Karachi are facing exorbitant prices for chicken meat and live chicken, with the former being sold at Rs 700 per kg and the latter at Rs 450 per kg. The prices of boneless golden meat have also surged to Rs 1000 per kg. Street vendors have made it difficult for people to afford chicken on Eid, causing distress among the masses.

Meanwhile, in Peshawar, the price of live chicken has increased by Rs 15 per kg, bringing the price to Rs 370 per kg. The prices of fruits and vegetables have also remained high, with ginger being sold at Rs 700 per kg, garlic at Rs 400 per kg, and green chillies at Rs 120 per kg.

The fixed prices of potatoes, tomatoes, and onions are Rs 80-100, Rs 80, and Rs 100 per kg, respectively. Bananas are being sold at Rs 300 per dozen, apples at Rs 250 per kg, and strawberries at Rs 300 per kg.

The increase in prices has caused difficulties for the general public who are already struggling with economic challenges.
