The meeting focused on strengthening and renovating police stations, initiating an operation against illegal immigrants, and addressing street crime issues.

Illegal Immigrants Operation: The Special Apex Committee decisions on the ‘Illegal Foreigners Repatriation Plan’ were discussed. The Special Branch (SB) is designated as the lead agency for implementation. Data of non-Pakistanis from the 2023 census will be obtained for mapping legal and illegal immigrants. Those holding Proof of Registration (PoR) and Afghan Citizen Cards (ACC) must register at police stations, and cases of illegal foreigners in courts will be expedited.

Police Stations Renovation: Inspector General of Police, Riffat Mukhtar, highlighted the poor condition of police stations, with 240 out of 621 categorized as bad. The CM directed funds for maintenance and repair, emphasizing standardized construction with strong walls, watchtowers, and reception areas. He approved a medical insurance policy for all policemen, costing over Rs1 billion annually.

Street Crime Control: Additional IG Karachi, Khadim Rind, shared proactive policing efforts to control street crimes, including encounters resulting in arrests, injuries, and fatalities. Actions against vehicle lifters, recovery of illegal weapons, combing operations, and surveillance through CCTV networks were initiated. The CM emphasized the inspection of police stations to strengthen personnel, equipment, and overall functionality.

Kidnapping of SHO: Expressing displeasure over the kidnapping of an SHO and five police personnel in Shikarpur, the CM directed the DIG Larkana to recover them within 48 hours, initiating a thorough inquiry into the incident.

Installation of Vehicle Trackers: Chief Secretary Dr. Fakhre Alam communicated the Sindh government’s decision to the Ministry of Industries & Production regarding the installation of trackers in motorcycles and motorcars. The ministry will make it mandatory for automotive companies to include in-built trackers.
