Caretaker Prime Minister Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar underscored the imperative need for prioritizing road infrastructure development in regions anticipating foreign investment. During a review meeting on Monday regarding the National Highways Authority (NHA), he specifically directed the commencement of the reconstruction work on the Karachi to Chaman highway at the earliest.
Highlighting the significance of the Karachi-Chaman highway project, the caretaker premier emphasized its potential benefits not only for the residents of Balochistan but also as a crucial alternative corridor for connecting various parts of the country.
He expressed the need for special attention to road infrastructure in Balochistan, acknowledging the pivotal role played by the NHA in the construction and development of roads across the country. According to Kakar, robust infrastructure is a prerequisite for the development of any nation, asserting that the realization of the dream of prosperity and progress hinges on establishing a comprehensive road network.
Caretaker PM Kakar stressed the challenging task of measuring the pivotal role that well-constructed highways play in the development and future prospects of a country. He directed that meticulous planning and optimal resource utilization should be ensured while formulating plans for new highways, aiming to maximize benefits for the people.
The meeting saw the presence of key figures including Federal Minister for Communications Shahid Ashraf Tarar, Federal Minister for Finance Dr. Shamshad Akhtar, Federal Minister for Planning Sami Saeed, the chairman of NHA, and other relevant government officials.
