Brazen daylight robbery in Karachi: Businessman looted of Rs 8m

In a shocking incident, Karachi’s Korangi area witnessed the biggest robbery of the year as a businessman fell victim to a broad daylight heist, losing Rs 8 million, as reported by ARY News on Friday.

According to the details, the unfortunate incident occurred when a trader, who had recently withdrawn Rs 8 million from a bank, was targeted in Karachi’s Korangi area. Promptly, the police registered a case and obtained crucial CCTV footage from both inside and outside the bank.

Upon reviewing the footage, it became apparent that two suspects on a motorcycle were waiting outside the bank, while one of them discreetly entered the bank for reconnaissance. The police, following the CCTV inspection, identified one of the accused as Saeed Alam. It was revealed that Alam is wanted in more than 14 different cases registered in various police stations.

With the assistance of NADRA and the identification through CCTV footage, law enforcement is actively pursuing the arrest of the suspect. The incident underscores the rising concerns of daylight robberies in Karachi, prompting authorities to intensify efforts to curb such criminal activities.

Earlier, another tragic incident was reported in Surjani town, where a young boy lost his life during a robbery attempt. Culprits on a motorcycle shot the father-son duo when they resisted the robbery, leaving the young man, identified as 20-year-old Faiz Muhammad, dead. The police, in response to such incidents, are under pressure to enhance security measures and bring perpetrators to justice, addressing the growing concerns of public safety in the city.
