Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Center (JPMC) Vice Chancellor Amjad Siraj believes that at least 8 to 10 people, mainly from an elderly age bracket, die of flu and fever in Karachi yearly.
“People should pay particular attention towards boosting their immunity and make immunity-boosting fruits and vegetables a regular part of their diet,” he said.
These stats came to light just as winter has begun its descent upon the city rendering a large number of people sick with flu, fever and asthma-related problems. Hospitals have been flooded with patients seeking medication for these ailments. In such times, doctors recommend the use of bone broth, eggs and immunity-boosting fruits and vegetables in the diet as well as the use of warm clothes.
