Ali Zafar, a musician popular among the masses, has gotten into a skirmish with model-turned-actress-and-show-host Iffat Omar over her continued support towards Meesha Shafi in the ongoing harassment cases.
The cases are regarding an ongoing dispute between Zafar and Shafi where allegations of defamation and harassment have been hurled by both sides respectively. The court battle has been going on for five years, with no end in sight.
Iffat Omar, who is quite active on social media, has openly supported Meesha Shafi on this case and has tweeted several times in her favour. A few days ago, the news of Meesha Shafi’s confession of giving a false statement in court came to light, upon which Iffat Omar tweeted in support of Meesha Shafi.
While Zafar has remained silent in response to Omar’s tweet up till now, he responded to the most recent one, which started a war of words between the two celebrities.
Ali Zafar, responding to Omar’s tweet said:
It has come to my knowledge that Ms @OmarIffat who was “found guilty” in the FIA’s report for smear against me and is on camera admitting harassing an older colleague, has been calling up publications not to post court proceedings and organisers not to hire me. Enough is enough.

“I have been quiet for almost 5 years for your uncalled for & uncivil behaviour, bullying & harassment tactics because I respect your husband & family but if you don’t stop, I will post all the videos you were confronted with in court along with others stuff that’s part of the record.”
Omar responded to this by calling Zafar a liar himself, upon which Zafar said that she should be ashamed for causing distress to his family and his father who used to be her favourite teacher at Punjab University. He went on to say that Omar should have come to meet his father and inquired about the truth when the case first started. Omar responded to this by saying that Zafar’s father should have called him had he been concerned about telling her the truth.
It seems like you have nothing better to do in life than to slander and bully people and talk utter non sense. But times have changed. Bullies will no longer be given any space to intimidate others specially journalists and cause such social negativity.

Zafar then alleged that Omar’s attacks are the result of her disbelief over the fact that the person she has been defending for five years had been found lying in court, along with a link to ARY news’s article on the matter.
