The judicial commission probing the death of young businessman Mir Raza Ali has summoned seven key witnesses to appear before the panel on September 3 as its investigation into the case continues.

The commission has summoned the SDPO Shahrah-e-Faisal and SHO Ferozabad, directing both police officials to appear and record their statements.
An online taxi driver identified as Ehsan has also been called before the commission.
In addition, Mir Raza Ali’s business partners, Muhammad Ahmed and Abdullah Bharde, have been summoned. His friends Razzaq and Haseem have also been directed to appear before the panel.
All seven witnesses have been asked to appear before the judicial commission on September 3.
Family and Friends Testify Before Commission
Earlier to this, the commission, headed by Sindh High Court Justice Omar Sial, had recorded statements from Mir Raza Ali’s family members and Edhi volunteers.
During the proceedings, the commission questioned Mir Raza’s father, Mir Hussain, about when the family first learned that his son was missing. He told the panel that his wife was better placed to explain the circumstances surrounding the disappearance.
Mir Raza’s mother told the commission that she received a call from his friend Haitham at around 4:14am, informing her that Mir Raza had deleted all his social media accounts.
She said Mir Raza’s fiancée also contacted her and told her that he was not responding to messages.
According to her testimony, the family checked his room and found that his keys and most of his belongings were still there, but Mir Raza was missing.
His friends Razzaq, Shehry and Kazim subsequently reached the house and joined the search for him.
Commission Questions MLO Dr Osama Sheikh
The judicial commission also questioned Dr Osama Sheikh, who conducted the initial post-mortem examination of Mir Raza, over discrepancies between the initial and final post-mortem reports.
Dr Osama appeared before the commission and was questioned about changes in the findings recorded in the two reports.
He told the panel that the final post-mortem report was issued on August 11, 2026, following chemical analysis of samples collected after the exhumation of Mir Raza’s body.

The commission questioned why the findings had subsequently changed and also noted that the handwriting on the final report appeared different from that on the earlier document.
Dr Osama was asked whether both reports had been prepared by him and whether the documents should undergo forensic examination.
The commission further questioned whether the discrepancies were the result of an error or negligence, or whether they could amount to facilitating a possible murder.
When asked who had instructed him to alter the report, Dr Osama denied facing political or administrative pressure.
Questions Raised Over Anesthetic Substances
The commission also questioned Dr Osama about reports of anesthetic substances being detected in Mir Raza’s blood.
Dr Osama told the panel that such substances could remain in the blood for between eight and 12 hours.
The commission questioned how anesthetic substances could have been detected if the body was between 24 and 36 hours old at the time of examination.

It also asked how the substance could have entered Mir Raza’s body and whether it could have been administered through a spray.
Dr Osama said that the relevant information and findings had been shared with Dr Summaiya.
Doctor Questioned Over Chief Minister’s Residence Meeting
The commission also questioned Dr Osama about why he had been summoned to the chief minister’s residence.
He said DIG East Farukh Lanjar had called him and asked him to appear there. He said SSP Samiullah Soomro was also present and requested a timeline of events.
Dr Osama further told the commission that he had previously been summoned to a police station but had asked for an official letter.

According to his testimony, he was subsequently told to follow the instructions “of your boss’s boss” under all circumstances.
He also stated that AIG Karachi Azad Khan had called him and instructed him to go to the chief minister’s residence.
The commission is continuing to examine statements, police records, medical evidence and other material as it seeks to establish the circumstances surrounding Mir Raza Ali’s death.
