The Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) closed almost unchanged on Thursday, with the benchmark KSE-100 Index declining 47.93 points, or 0.03%, to settle at 177,322.77 as investors remained cautious despite strong trading activity.

The index moved between an intraday high of 178,650.01 and a low of 177,196.28, compared with the previous session’s close of 177,370.70.
Trading activity remained robust during the session, with 614.06 million shares changing hands across the exchange. The total traded value stood at approximately Rs34.55 billion, while investors executed 408,043 trades.

Despite the relatively stable index performance, market breadth remained negative. Of the 568 securities traded, 279 closed lower, 191 advanced and 98 remained unchanged, indicating continued selling pressure across a broad section of the market.

First National Equities Limited (FNEL) emerged as the most actively traded stock, with 86.07 million shares changing hands. The stock fell Rs0.06 to close at Rs1.24.
Cnergyico PK Limited (CNERGY) followed with 49.23 million shares traded, declining Rs0.23 to settle at Rs14.04. Tariq Glass Industries Limited (TISL) recorded 29.68 million shares in volume and gained Rs0.06 to close at Rs3.54.

S.G. Power Limited (SGPLR) saw 22.92 million shares traded, with its share price falling Rs1.71 to Rs15.40. Among other actively traded stocks, Pakistan Refinery Limited (PRL) closed at Rs90.41, down Rs0.18, on volume of 19.02 million shares.
WorldCall Telecom Limited (WTL) declined Rs0.01 to Rs1.17 after 18.72 million shares were traded, while Waves Corporation (WAVESAPP) fell Rs0.10 to Rs9.12 on turnover of 17.22 million shares.

The session reflected a largely range-bound market, with strong turnover failing to translate into meaningful gains for the benchmark.
The negative market breadth suggested that investors remained cautious, with selling pressure in several stocks offsetting gains in selected counters.
