PSX rally continues as KSE-100 surges nearly 3,000pts

The Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) turns to upward momentum, with the benchmark KSE-100 Index surging 2,931.71 points, or 1.66 percent, to close above the 180,000-point level amid broad-based buying across major sectors.

The KSE-100 settled at 180,014.93 points, compared with the previous close of 177,083.22.

During the session, the benchmark traded between 178,512.09 and 180,202.38 points, reflecting sustained buying interest and positive investor sentiment.

Trading activity remained robust, with KSE-100 companies recording a traded volume of 294.91 million shares worth Rs27.81 billion.

Across the broader market, total trading volume reached 740.56 million shares, while the traded value stood at Rs35.91 billion through 387,149 transactions.

Market breadth was firmly positive. Of the 563 traded securities, 303 stocks advanced, 158 declined and 102 remained unchanged.

Tandlianwala Sugar Mills (TSBL) topped the volume chart with 52.88 million shares traded. Despite being the most actively traded stock, it declined Rs0.13 to close at Rs2.46.

WorldCall Telecom (WTL) followed with 42.52 million shares and gained Rs0.03 to settle at Rs1.24.

Cnergyico PK (CNERGY) also remained among the most actively traded stocks, with 40.20 million shares changing hands. The stock gained Rs0.05 to close at Rs11.06.

The Bank of Punjab (BOP) gained Rs1.05 to close at Rs34.75, with 40.11 million shares traded.

Soneri Bank (SBL) also posted a strong performance, rising Rs1.07 to settle at Rs16.13 after 23.48 million shares changed hands.

Unity Foods (UNITY) was among the notable gainers, advancing Rs1.01 to close at Rs11.14, with 26.76 million shares traded.

Meanwhile, TPL Properties (TPLP) declined Rs0.16 to settle at Rs14.78, despite a turnover of 25.27 million shares.

The KSE-100’s strong gain pushed the benchmark back above the 180,000-point level, extending the market’s recent rally.

A day earlier, PSX closed lower as broad-based selling dragged the benchmark index down more than 1,100 points, despite selective buying in a handful of high-volume stocks.

The benchmark index settled at 177,083.22 points, losing 1,116.80 points or 0.63% from the previous close of 178,200.02.

During the session, the index touched an intraday high of 178,768.83 before falling to a low of 177,043.10, reflecting cautious investor sentiment and sustained selling pressure across key sectors.

Overall market activity remained robust. Total traded volume on the exchange reached 711.27 million shares, with a traded value of Rs25.87 billion generated through 351,200 trades.
