Police announce traffic plan for Muharram processions in Karachi

Traffic Police have announced alternate routes for 7th Muharram processions in Malir.
Several roads along the procession routes will face diversions, with alternate routes designated for commuters.
Citizens can obtain traffic guidance through Helpline 1915 and Sindh Police FM 88.6.

The Office of the Senior Superintendent of Police Traffic Malir has announced traffic plan for processions scheduled for the evening of 7th Muharram 2026.

According to the traffic plan, a procession under the Model Colony and Malir City Traffic Section will commence after Maghrib prayers from Qaimia Imambargah.

The procession will pass through Chatai Ground, Bakra Piri, Naeem Hospital, and Muhammadi Dera before proceeding towards Malir Mandir via the Main National Highway.

It will then move through the street in front of Malir City Police Station and conclude at Qaimia Imambargah at 10:00 pm.

Alternate Routes

To facilitate traffic flow, alternative routes have been designated. Traffic arriving from Steel Town will be diverted from Manzil Pump towards Younus Chowrangi.

Traffic coming from Radio Pakistan will be directed towards Daud Chowrangi. Vehicles arriving from the city side will be diverted from Malir Halt towards Jinnah Avenue Road and Model Colony.

Procession Routes

Separately, under the Malir City Traffic Section, a tazia procession will emerge after Maghrib prayers from Ram Body Building near Qutbia Mosque on Memon Goth Road.

The procession will proceed onto the Main National Highway and return via Gosht Gali before concluding at Ram Body Building.

The Traffic Police have advised citizens to contact the Traffic Helpline at 1915 for traffic-related guidance and to continue listening to Sindh Police FM 88.6 for updates.
