Inspector General Police Sindh Javed Alam Odho has revealed that several prominent and influential individuals have been identified among allegedly customers of accused drug peddler Anmol aka ‘Pinky.’
Speaking during a visit to the Karachi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI), the Inspector General of Sindh discussed law and order, operations in riverine ‘Kacha’ areas, street crime, and the ongoing investigation into the high-profile narcotics case.
Addressing the recent arrest of Anmol alias Pinky, the IG Sindh said the accused should not be portrayed as a ‘heroic figure’ stressing the seriousness of the drug problem in society.

He stated that authorities must ensure ‘no other Pinky emerges,’ adding that the protection of young people from narcotics networks should remain a top priority.
According to Javed Alam Odho, the accused primarily lived in Lahore and was arrested after police tracked her movements when she arrived in Karachi.
In a major revelation, the IG Sindh said several respected and influential names had surfaced during the investigation into the alleged drug network.

He noted that because of the sensitivity of the case, many individuals fear public exposure if their identities become known.
The police chief further stated that authorities sometimes have to protect accused individuals from outside threats as well as from potential harm to themselves.
However, he clarified that no extraordinary security arrangements had been provided to the arrested suspect beyond standard operating procedures (SOPs).

Javed Alam Odho said police would continue strict action against drug traffickers without exception, while individuals suffering from addiction would be provided treatment and rehabilitation facilities.
He added that Sindh Police were coordinating closely with narcotics authorities and federal intelligence agencies during ongoing investigations.
The IG also highlighted broader security operations across Sindh, stating that more than 1,100 police personnel had lost their lives in the line of duty while combating crime and militancy.
