The British High Commission has issued an official response after Pakistan delivered a diplomatic protest, as British response to Pakistan demarche clarified London’s position regarding threats made to Chief of Defence Forces (CDF) Asim Munir during a protest in the United Kingdom (UK).
In an official statement, the British High Commission spokesperson said policing and prosecution in the UK operate independently from the government, under established legal frameworks and judicial oversight.

The spokesperson advised that if any foreign government suspects a crime, relevant evidence should be formally shared with UK police through established liaison mechanisms.
According to the statement, all submitted material would be assessed by British police authorities strictly in accordance with UK law and legal procedures.

The High Commission added that criminal investigations could be initiated if the material provided is found to violate British laws or regulations.
It stressed that every case is treated individually and handled solely under the British legal system, without political interference or diplomatic pressure.

The response followed Pakistan’s formal demarche issued earlier to the United Kingdom over alleged threats made during a protest in Bradford.
Pakistan’s Foreign Office had summoned the UK’s Deputy Head of Mission, Matt Cannell, to formally convey Islamabad’s concerns regarding the incident.
