The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is considering withdrawing its offer to Test captain Shan Masood for the role of Consultant for International Cricket and Players’ Affairs, according to Geo Super.
According to the report, the decision is being reviewed due to Masood’s demanding Test cricket schedule, which has reportedly made it difficult for him to manage both responsibilities at the same time.

The 36-year-old batter was verbally offered the consultancy role in October.
The PCB later confirmed the development through a short press release and a social media announcement.
However, the release has since been removed, raising questions about the future of the appointment.
Reports say Masood’s ongoing commitments with the national Test side are the main reason behind the reconsideration.

The board is concerned that handling a senior administrative role alongside international cricket duties may not be practical.
Masood’s proposed appointment came after the PCB advertised for the position of Director of International Cricket Operations, which became vacant following Usman Wahla’s resignation.
While the board did not clearly outline Masood’s exact duties at the time, the advertised role involves major operational responsibilities.
These include planning and managing international fixtures, finalising agreements for home and away tours, and coordinating tours for Pakistan’s national team, Shaheens, and junior sides.
The role also covers preparation for ICC meetings, budget planning for tournaments, and overseeing contracts and tour schedules under the Future Tours Programme across all formats.
