Google has released its detailed list of Pakistan’s most popular searches of 2025, highlighting what people explored the most online under the Google Pakistan search trends categories throughout the year.
The trends were compiled from trillions of global searches, with the company identifying top results across seven categories, including cricket, athletes, local news, technology, recipes, how-to guides and dramas trending nationwide.
Cricket:
In the cricket category, Pakistan vs South Africa emerged as the year’s most searched match. Pakistan Super League secured second place, while Asia Cup and Pakistan vs India also remained highly trending events.

Google reported that Pakistan vs New Zealand ranked fourth, followed by India vs England, Pakistan vs West Indies, India vs Australia, ICC Champions Trophy and Pakistan vs UAE to complete the top ten list.
Athletes:
Among athletes, Indian cricketer Abhishek Sharma topped the category, becoming the most searched sports figure in Pakistan. Local cricketers Hassan Nawaz, Irfan Khan Niazi and Sahibzada Farhan followed closely behind.
Muhammad Abbas, Saim Ayub, Yasir Khan, Kasht Ali, Saif Hassan and Abdul Samad also featured prominently, reflecting Pakistanis’ deep interest in emerging cricketing talent across the region.
Local News:
In local news searches, the Punjab Socio-Economic Registry dominated the list. Karachi floods, Iran, Asan Zarqaan Card and Chenab River flood updates captured strong public attention throughout the year.

Exam results:
Federal and Karachi Matric examination results remained major search drivers, along with Prime Minister Laptop Scheme, gold prices in Pakistan and the ninth class election date rounding off the top queries.
Technology:
In technology, Google Gemini remained the most searched term in Pakistan during 2025. Tamasha, DeepSec, MyCo, On4t, Google AI Studio, Claude, iPhone 17, Grok and NFTs completed the top list.
Recipes:
For recipes, sandwich-making surprisingly topped all food-related searches. Food fusion recipes, quinoa dishes, dough preparation, sweets, mutton items, easy recipes, tofu, soup varieties and beef meals followed afterward.
How to:
In the how-to category, Karachi e-challan checking was the top question. Searches for unsending Instagram messages, understanding car insurance and investing in crypto and stock markets ranked highly.

Drama:
Among dramas, Geo TV dominated Pakistan’s search landscape. Its drama Sher ranked first, another Geo serial claimed third place, while Dine secured ninth in the overall top ten list.
