The Sindh Education Department has issued new rules for private schools, ensuring students are not forced to wear jackets of specific colors or designs during the winter season.
The directive comes under the instructions of Sindh Education Minister Syed Sardar Ali Shah.
According to a notification from the Directorate of Private Institutions, all privately managed schools in the province of Sindh are hereby directed to relax their uniform policy in light of the ongoing winter season.

The schools must allow students to wear any warm clothing they choose, including sweaters, blazers, coats, jackets, caps, socks, and shoes, as needed.
It further emphasized that no school can compel children to buy or wear a particular jacket style or color.
Schools violating this order will face action.
“All school administrations are instructed to implement the policy in its true spirit, ensuring that no restrictions are placed on winter attire during this period. This will allow students to stay warm and protected from the cold,” the notification read.

According to media reports, other provinces have also announced winter guidelines for students.
In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the Education Department allowed students to wear sweaters or gloves of any color to stay comfortable during colder months.
Balochistan has announced winter vacations of two and a half months for schools in colder areas, starting from December 16, with reopening scheduled for March 1.
Annual exams for classes one to eight are currently underway in Chaman.
Punjab has also released its winter vacation schedule, with all government and private schools closing from December 23, 2025, to January 12, 2026, and reopening on January 13.
