The Karachi Metropolitan Corporation conducted an anti-encroachment operation across at least four districts of Karachi the same day.
The districts to see KMC’s wrath befalling ‘encroachers’ include Korangi, Central, East and South districts of Karachi.
The teams reportey removed encroachments from Korangi’s roads and footpaths near at Nasir Jump; from Mehmoodabad in East district; from Liaquatabad-C 1 area in Central district; and from Empress Market and Rainbow Center Saddar Town in South district.
The anti-encroachment teams, with assistance from local police from each area have removed hotel items, tables, chairs, cabins, pushcarts, paratha pans, hen cages, puncture kiosks, sugarcane machines and gas cylinders that were in violation of land and confiscated them.
KMC Anti-encroachment Department Senior Director Bashir Siddiqui noted the drive is carried out on Karachi Administrator Iftikhar Shallwani’s directives.
The operations, once concluded from these districts, will continue in the rest of the districts as well, according to the authorities.
