National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) announced a new feature to assist the senior citizens facing issues with fingerprint biometric verification.
The spokesperson, Shabbahat Ali, announced that the facial recognition technology for elderly citizens will soon be introduced by NADRA.
He said the new feature aims to make registration easier for older people whose fingerprints often become unclear with age.
Ali revealed that Karachi currently hosts 359 service counters at NADRA centres.

Plans are underway to increase this number to improve efficiency and reduce waiting times for applicants.
He said the initiative reflects the organisation’s efforts to modernise services and meet the city’s growing population needs.
He highlighted that the introduction of face recognition will especially support senior citizens who struggle with fingerprint scans because of age-related changes.
“This technology will remove hurdles and ensure smooth access to identity services,” he added.
