Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC) launches MDCAT 2025 question bank as part of its plan to digitise operations and ensure transparency in the country’s medical and dental college admission process.
At a briefing in Islamabad, PMDC President Professor Dr. Rizwan Taj stated that while the Council will oversee registration and monitoring, public universities will prepare question papers, conduct exams, and handle marking.
The newly launched question bank is developed based on a consensus syllabus approved by all provinces.
The initiative aims to eliminate errors, address regional concerns, and provide equal preparation opportunities for all students.
So far, more than 97,000 candidates have registered for MDCAT 2025, with the number expected to rise to 150,000 by the end of the registration period, officials confirmed during the briefing.

The test will be conducted across 30 designated centres nationwide, while only one international centre in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, will accommodate overseas candidates under the current plan.
Federal Health Minister Syed Mustafa Kamal, who inaugurated the question bank, hailed the reform as a “crucial step towards restoring public trust,” promising that transparency will not be compromised.
The MDCAT 2025 will take place in September, with exact dates to be announced. The exam will likely feature 180 multiple-choice questions instead of 200, with a shorter duration of three hours instead of 3.5.
The syllabus covers biology, chemistry, physics, English, and logical reasoning, with topics like cell biology, thermodynamics, electromagnetism, grammar, and pattern recognition aimed at assessing a student’s comprehensive understanding of core concepts.
