The tragic death of journalist Khawar Hussain in Sanghar has raised serious concerns, as his body was discovered with a gunshot wound inside his vehicle late Saturday night.

According to police officials, a pistol was found in the journalist’s hand, sparking doubts about whether it was suicide or foul play, however, the circumstances surrounding the incident remain unclear.

CCTV footage emerges:

CCTV footage showed Khawar parking his car near a restaurant, going to the washroom, and later returning to his vehicle before being found dead inside.

Restaurant staff confirmed that Khawar only spent a short time in the washroom before he returned to his car. Later, his body was discovered in the case by the restaurant guard.

Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah has directed Inspector General of Police to appoint senior officers for the case. He emphasized the need for a transparent and thorough investigation.

Police confirmed that the postmortem was completed, and samples were sent for chemical examination. The journalist’s body was later shifted to the Hyderabad morgue for official procedures.

Family sources said Khawar’s brother and parents were on their way from the United States. His funeral is expected to be held in Sanghar on Monday afternoon.

Journalistic organizations strongly condemned his death and demanded an immediate inquiry. They said it is the government’s duty to find the real cause and punish anyone involved.
