The nationwide strike on July 19 will be held as originally announced, confirmed President of Karachi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI), Muhammad Jawed Bilwani, dismissing all cancellation rumors.

Bilwani issued a strong statement, declaring that the strike has neither been postponed nor canceled. He said such rumors are baseless and have no link to the actual movement.

He clarified that those spreading misinformation are not associated with the KCCI or any other chamber involved in the collective decision-making behind this strike.

“The decision was made after mutual consultation with presidents and representatives from leading Chambers of Commerce across all four provinces,” Bilwani emphasized during the official statement.

He added that any change in the strike decision would only be made jointly by all supporting chambers and announced through a formal press conference, not by individual actors.

Bilwani said, “Nobody has the authority to unilaterally change the plan. False reports aim to confuse the business community and harm the cause of this movement.”

He reiterated that preparations for the strike are complete nationwide and urged the business community—including shopkeepers, traders, and industrialists—to show unity and stand firm.

“This is a movement in the interest of the nation and economy. We must resist attempts to divide or distract the business community from our collective goal,” he said.

Bilwani also warned the public and traders to ignore unofficial statements and follow updates only from KCCI and recognized partners supporting the strike plan.
