The CTD spokesperson said the suspects were allegedly affiliated with the banned Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA) and Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP). An improvised explosive device (IED), hand grenades, a .30-bore pistol and ammunition were recovered during the operations.
Two Suspected BLA Militants Arrested in Gulistan-e-Johar
In the first operation, CTD personnel arrested two suspected BLA militants in Block 7 of Gulistan-e-Johar. The suspects were identified as Rahim Fazal and Balach Baloch.
According to the CTD, initial investigations suggested that the two suspects were in regular contact with a commander associated with their organisation.
Officials alleged that the suspects were planning to target sensitive locations and law enforcement offices using IEDs and hand grenades.
The authorities said the operation was part of efforts to prevent potential attacks and disrupt suspected militant activities in the city.
Suspected TTP Member Arrested Near Gulbai Chowk Bridge
In a separate operation near the Gulbai Chowk Bridge, CTD officials arrested another suspected militant, identified as Shah Noor Rehman Khan.
According to the authorities, the suspect was allegedly affiliated with the banned TTP. A .30-bore pistol, a loaded magazine and ammunition were reportedly recovered from his possession.
Officials further alleged that the suspect had previously been involved in attacks on security forces in Waziristan.
Investigators claimed that he had travelled to Karachi to conduct reconnaissance of law enforcement offices and plan possible attacks on those locations.
The allegations are part of the ongoing investigation and have not yet been established in court.
Three Cases Registered, Raids Underway
The CTD has registered three separate cases against the arrested suspects at its police station, according to the spokesperson.
Officials said raids were underway to arrest the suspects’ alleged accomplices and facilitators.
The investigation is continuing as authorities examine the alleged plans, recovered weapons and possible links between the suspects and other individuals.
The arrests come amid security efforts to prevent attacks on sensitive installations and law enforcement facilities in Karachi. The suspects remain accused, and any criminal responsibility will be determined through the legal process.
