Mohsin Naqvi, the Chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), met with Aisam-ul-Haq Qureshi, the President of the Pakistan Tennis Federation (PTF), to discuss how to improve tennis in the country.
During their meeting, Aisam-ul-Haq pointed out the problems with tennis courts in Islamabad. In response, Naqvi instructed the relevant authorities to fix these issues and promised full support for tennis development across Pakistan.
“We will also build new tennis courts,” Naqvi said, showing the PCB’s commitment to supporting sports beyond cricket.
Aisam-ul-Haq congratulated Naqvi for securing the hosting rights for the ICC Champions Trophy in Pakistan and praised his efforts to promote cricket in the country. He also thanked the PCB for its willingness to help tennis initiatives.
“Just like cricket, Pakistan has a lot of talent in tennis,” Naqvi stated. “We want our players to make the country proud in tennis too.”
He also mentioned that “paddle tennis” is becoming popular among young people and assured that the Tennis Federation would receive support to help young athletes take advantage of new opportunities in this sport.
“PCB is ready to help the Pakistan Tennis Federation in every way possible,” Naqvi concluded. Both leaders left the meeting feeling hopeful about the future of tennis in Pakistan.
