Gold rates in Pakistan surged by Rs. 5,200 per tola to Rs. 477,136 for 24-karat gold on Friday, according to rates certified by the All Pakistan Sarafa Gems and Jewellers Association (APSGJA).

The Karachi bullion market posted a sharp rally on Friday, with today’s gold rates in Karachi jumping as buying interest picked up strongly heading into the weekend.

Today’s gold rates in Karachi for 24-karat gold rose by Rs. 5,200, closing at Rs. 477,136 per tola.

In grams, 24-karat gold gained Rs. 4,458 to reach Rs. 409,067, while 22-karat gold rose by Rs. 4,086 to Rs. 374,991.

The strong gains across all three variants suggest broad-based buying returning to the market on Friday.

Gold rates in Karachi, August 21, 2026:

  • Gold, 24K per tola: Rs. 477,136 (+5,200)
  • Gold, 24K per 10 grams: Rs. 409,067 (+4,458)
  • Gold, 22K per 10 grams: Rs. 374,991 (+4,086)

The rally was supported by firm global markets, where the international gold price per ounce rose by $52 to $4,547, extending its upward momentum and lending strong support to today’s gold rates in Karachi.

Eyes on the Rs. 480,000 Mark

With Friday’s strong gains, gold rates in Karachi are now closing in on the psychological Rs. 480,000 level, a mark that could shape sentiment heading into next week.

Since the historic peak above Rs. 563,000 in early March, gold remains below those highs, but Friday’s sharp move higher points to renewed strength in the market.
