President Karachi Chamber of Commerce & Industry (KCCI) Muhammad Jawed Bilwani lauded Mayor Karachi Barrister Murtaza Wahab and the Sindh Government for ensuring citywide cleanliness during Eid ul Adha.
In an official statement, Bilwani said that the timely disposal of animal offals and waste across Karachi significantly improved public hygiene and made the Eid holidays more comfortable for citizens.
He praised the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) and Sindh Solid Waste Management Board (SSWMB) for their coordinated sanitation drive, adding that quick response teams and sanitary workers deserved recognition for their round-the-clock efforts.
“This year, the city remained clean with no major complaints from any district,” said Bilwani, calling it a major improvement from past years when Eid waste led to health issues and foul smells.
He appreciated the pre-Eid awareness campaign and the deployment of additional machinery and manpower across all seven districts of Karachi. He also acknowledged the use of technology, helplines, and social media in managing public grievances.
Bilwani emphasized that such successful coordination should extend beyond Eid for ongoing issues like water supply, sewerage, encroachments, and traffic regulation.
He reaffirmed KCCI’s support for initiatives that improve Karachi’s civic landscape, adding that cleanliness is a basic right and vital for a healthy business environment.
Bilwani concluded by encouraging further improvement in urban governance, and reiterated the business community’s commitment to Karachi’s development as Pakistan’s economic backbone.
