Renowned Bollywood singer Sonu Nigam has expressed deep sorrow over the unexpected death of Pakistani director Furqan T. Siddiqui, who passed away in Karachi.
Taking to his personal social media account, Sonu Nigam shared a video of the news and penned an emotional tribute. He reminisced about his special bond with Furqan, whom he met during his visit to Karachi for a concert on April 10, 2004.
“There are some people whom we meet for a short time, but the love we share in that one moment stays for decades,” Nigam wrote. He recalled how Furqan warmly took care of him during the trip and how they continued to wish each other every year on April 10, praying for each other’s long life.
Expressing his grief, the singer added, “It breaks my heart to see my friend pass away so randomly and so suddenly. I am so saddened to learn about his demise.” He extended his condolences to Furqan’s family and friends, acknowledging that the loss would be difficult to overcome.

According to reports, Siddiqui choked on a chicken bone and was immediately rushed to a local hospital, where an X-ray showed no obstruction. However, as his discomfort persisted, he sought further medical attention at another hospital, where doctors performed a CT scan.
Despite immediate efforts, including CPR, Siddiqui could not be revived.
With over 30 years of experience in broadcasting and media production, Siddiqui made significant contributions to television.
He created successful dramas, TV commercials, documentaries, and live event coverage. He also worked as a digital content creator for various OTT platforms and hosted the podcast ‘SHOWCAST with Furqan T. Siddiqui’, which aired in Canada.
