PCB Chairman directs officials to speed up National Stadium renovation

Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Mohsin Naqvi visited the National Bank Cricket Stadium on Wednesday to inspect ongoing renovations ahead of the ICC Champions Trophy 2025.

During the stadium inspection, Naqvi stressed the importance of enhancing the crowd’s experience. He directed the team to reposition the electronic score screen for optimal viewing.

“We want fans to have an uninterrupted view of the matches, so adjusting the screen placement is a priority,” he stated.

Mohsin Naqvi also instructed the relevant authorities to move the parking area closer to the stadium to facilitate the general public.

The Frontier Works Organisation (FWO), responsible for the stadium’s upgrade, briefed Naqvi on the renovation progress. Adviser Aamir Mir and National Stadium Manager Arshad Khan were also present on the occasion.

Naqvi stressed the urgency of completing the upgrades on time and instructed FWO officials to accelerate the project.

“The upgradation project should be accelerated with day and night efforts for the upcoming tournament,” he urged.

The Champions Trophy 2025 – scheduled to be hosted in Pakistan from February to March – may face uncertainties surrounding the participation of the neighboring country and Pakistan’s arch-rival, India, as the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) awaits government approval to visit Pakistan for the tournament.
