According to the PMD, Karachiites should brace themselves for a significant rise in temperatures over the coming days, with maximum temperatures expected to climb steadily and humidity levels remaining elevated throughout the forecast period. Heatwave conditions are likely to prevail over most parts of Sindh until June 12.

Tuesday kicks off the forecast period with hot and humid conditions across the city. Maximum temperatures ranged between 36–38°C while the minimum temperature overnight was recorded at 29.5°C. Morning humidity stands at 72 per cent while evening levels settles between 55–65 per cent. Winds blowed from a West to Southwesterly direction throughout the day.

Wednesday will bring a significant intensification of conditions, with very hot and humid weather prevailing across the city. Maximum temperatures will climb sharply to 38–40°C while overnight lows will range between 29–31°C. Morning humidity will settle between 70–80 per cent while evening levels will remain between 55–65 per cent. Winds will continue from a West to Southwesterly direction.

Thursday will round off the forecast period as the most extreme day, with very hot and humid conditions intensifying further across Karachi. Maximum temperatures are expected to reach 40–42°C while minimum temperatures will range between 29–31°C.

Morning humidity will hold between 70–80 per cent while evening levels will ease slightly to 50–60 per cent. Winds will continue to blow from a West to Southwesterly direction.
Heatwave Conditions Intensify Across Sindh
The PMD has warned that temperatures across several districts of Sindh are likely to remain 4–6°C above normal during the forecast period. Extreme temperatures of 48–51°C are expected in districts including Sukkur, Shikarpur, Qambar Shahdadkot, Jacobabad, Larkana, Mohenjo Daro, Dadu, Shaheed Benazirabad, Ghotki, Khairpur and Nausharo Feroze. Temperatures in Hyderabad, Badin, Matiari, Tando Muhamad Khan, Umerkot, Mirpur Khas, Jamshoro and Sanghar districts are also expected to reach 42–45°C until June 12.
Karachi May Experience 39–42°C During Heatwave
The PMD has forecast that maximum temperatures in Karachi could reach between 39–42°C between June 9 to June 12 as the heatwave strengthens across the province. While Karachi is expected to remain relatively cooler than upper Sindh due to its coastal location, high humidity levels are likely to make conditions feel significantly hotter than the actual temperature.
Dust-Storm Risk in Plain Areas
Due to intense heating, isolated dust storms may occur in plain areas of Sindh during the forecast period. These weather events may temporarily reduce visibility and create travel disruptions in affected areas.
Public Health Advisory Issued
The PMD has strongly advised the general public, especially children, women and senior citizens, to take necessary precautionary measures and remain extra cautious during the ongoing heatwave spell.

Electricity demand and consumption are expected to increase significantly as temperatures continue to climb across the province. Residents are encouraged to use electricity responsibly during peak demand periods.

With temperatures rising and water demand increasing, judicious use of water is advised in all aspects of daily life. Residents are urged to avoid wastage and use water responsibly during this period.
