Karachi included in Road to Makkah project

In a significant announcement, Minister for Religious Affairs Aneeq Ahmed revealed on Wednesday that Karachi has been incorporated into the Road to Makkah project, aiming to streamline the journey for pilgrims. The announcement was made during a meeting with Saudi Ambassador Nawaf bin Said Al-Malki and Muslim World League Regional Director Saad bin Masood Al-Harsi, where discussions focused on future Hajj arrangements and mutual interests.

Expressing gratitude to the Saudi government for their ongoing cooperation and support in Hajj arrangements, Minister Aneeq highlighted the positive outcomes of his recent visit to Saudi Arabia, noting improved facilities for Pakistani pilgrims.

The inclusion of Karachi in the Road to Makkah project is expected to significantly expedite the immigration and customs processes for pilgrims departing from the metropolitan city. This development aims to ensure a smoother movement of pilgrims and swift accommodation upon their arrival in Saudi Arabia.

Minister Aneeq also underscored the groundbreaking establishment of a Seerat Museum in Islamabad, a revolutionary project in the pipeline. The foundation stone for the Seerat Museum is scheduled to be laid on November 15 by Muslim World League Secretary-General Sheikh Dr Muhammad bin Abdulkarim Al-Issa. Minister Aneeq commended the dynamic and vital role played by the Muslim World League in various initiatives.

Saudi Ambassador Al-Malki assured that there would be further enhancements in facilities for Hajj pilgrims in the upcoming seasons. He specifically highlighted the inclusion of Pakistan in the Road to Makkah project, an exclusive program currently involving only seven countries worldwide.

Providing details about the forthcoming Seerat Museum in Islamabad, Muslim World League Regional Director Saad bin Masood Al-Harsi emphasized its impressive scale, spanning 8,000 square meters. He stressed the importance of prompt construction activities, with the foundation laying ceremony set to commence next month. The project is expected to contribute significantly to promoting cultural and religious understanding.
