Addressing a news conference in Islamabad, Vawda criticised the PTI’s political position and discussed recent developments in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), including the imposition of Governor’s Rule and emergency in the province.

“PTI has now scattered, and the show is over,” Vawda said, calling on the party’s leaders to consider their political options.

However, he acknowledged that not all PTI members were responsible for the party’s problems, adding that the party also had patriotic individuals who could contribute to the country.

Vawda further alleged that the arrests of PTI leaders were part of a coordinated arrangement following the imposition of the emergency.

Faisal Vawda Predicts Further Changes in KP

Commenting on the political situation in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Vawda said the province was entering the first phase of a new political arrangement.

He suggested that further changes could follow if the current setup failed to deliver the expected results.

According to the senator, the performance of the new arrangement would be assessed over the next 60 to 80 days. He said individuals demonstrating better performance could be brought into the setup if the existing team failed to meet expectations.

“There is no guarantee that people will remain in their positions,” he said.

Vawda also warned KP Governor Faisal Karim Kundi that the 180-day target associated with the new arrangement should be taken seriously.

He maintained that the setup would be judged on its performance and that future decisions would depend on the results achieved.

Federal Committee Formed to Oversee KP Affairs

The developments come as Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has formed an 11-member committee, headed by Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar, to oversee affairs relating to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

The committee is expected to provide policy guidance and review governance measures in the province following the imposition of Governor’s Rule.

The political situation remains tense, with questions surrounding the future administrative and political arrangements in KP.

Vawda Defends Maulana Fazlur Rehman

During the news conference, Vawda rejected claims that Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman had deceived KP Chief Minister Sohail Afridi by inviting him to the Chief Minister’s House before his arrest.

The senator also issued a strong warning against anyone refusing to respect Pakistan’s national flag or national anthem, stressing the importance of national symbols.

PTI Calls Governor’s Rule and Emergency Unconstitutional

Meanwhile, PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar Ali Khan on Tuesday described the imposition of Governor’s Rule and an emergency in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa as unconstitutional and illegal.

The party’s objection comes after President Asif Ali Zardari approved the measures on the advice of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, with Articles 232 and 234 of the Constitution cited in connection with the decision.

The dispute has intensified political tensions between the federal government and PTI, which has challenged the legality of the measures.

While Vawda has predicted further changes in the province’s political setup, PTI has maintained that the emergency and Governor’s Rule violate constitutional principles. The competing positions highlight the continuing political dispute over governance and authority in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
