Karachi is likely to receive light rainfall from Monday evening or night, according to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), as hot and humid weather continues across the city.

The Met Office said temperatures in Karachi may rise to around 40°C, with hot and humid conditions expected to persist. However, light rain is forecast in the metropolis and surrounding areas from Monday evening or night until Wednesday, with occasional breaks.
The PMD has also forecast rain, accompanied by strong winds and thunderstorms, in several other districts of Sindh.
Sukkur, Larkana, Jacobabad, Mirpur Khas, Tharparkar, Umarkot, Thatta and Badin are expected to receive rainfall from the evening or night of September 13 to September 16, with occasional gaps.
Residents in these areas may experience changing weather conditions during the forecast period, particularly during evening and night hours.
The Met Office has also predicted rainfall in parts of Balochistan, including Zhob, Barkhan, Musakhel and adjoining areas.
The forecast comes as monsoon currents continue to penetrate the upper parts of the country.
According to the PMD, a westerly wave is likely to enter the upper parts of Pakistan during the weekend and may strengthen on September 14.
The combination of monsoon currents and the approaching westerly wave is expected to contribute to unsettled weather conditions in several parts of the country.
For Karachi, the forecast provides some relief from the ongoing hot and humid conditions, although temperatures may remain high before the expected rainfall.
