Police have held Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Korangi Fida Janwari responsible for administrative negligence in connection with an assault on a family in Karachi’s Defence area, following the completion of an inquiry into the incident.

According to the inquiry report, authorities recommended quashing the case previously registered against the affected family and classifying it as a “B Class” case.
Media reports claimed that the inquiry report recommended action against four police officials from District Korangi.
It also recommended departmental proceedings against Darakhshan SHO Rashid Ali, SIO Imran and Mobile Officer Aftab Mangi over their alleged roles in the handling of the case.

The report further recommended registration of a fresh FIR based on the complaint of the affected family against two women and a man who were allegedly clearly visible in video footage of the assault.
According to the inquiry findings, the individuals seen allegedly assaulting the family are close relatives of SSP Fida Janwari.
The report concluded that the SSP had demonstrated administrative negligence and recommended initiating departmental action against him under the Sindh Civil Servants (Efficiency and Discipline) Rules, 2020.
The inquiry report also recommended further action against the police officials allegedly involved in the matter.

Media report further stated that the inquiry was conducted transparently and that the finalized report has been submitted to Additional Inspector General (AIG) Karachi for further action.
The recommendations will now be considered by the relevant authorities, who will decide on the proposed departmental proceedings and the registration of a fresh case against those identified in the inquiry.
