A police case has been registered against Inspector Ghulam Nabi Afridi, a member of the investigation team probing the Mir Raza Ali murder case, over allegations of registering a false FIR against a citizen.

The case involves allegations of forgery, misuse of authority and collusion by police officials and other individuals who allegedly attempted to implicate a citizen in a fabricated case and extort money from him.
Two former Station House Officers (SHOs) of Shah Latif Police Station, along with former investigation officers, have been nominated in the case. Afridi, who previously served as SHO, is currently also part of the investigation team formed to probe the death of Mir Raza Ali.

According to police, the case was registered at Shah Latif Town Police Station on behalf of the state.
Four people, including the complainant who allegedly lodged the false FIR, have been taken into custody in connection with the case.

Police said the nominated officers had previously conducted a raid at the residence of a businessman in Defence.
The officials are accused of allegedly conspiring with others to implicate the citizen in a fabricated case involving the alleged theft of a plot file and gold.
According to the allegations, a man identified as Nasr-ur-Rehman lodged the case following a personal dispute, allegedly with the assistance of Afridi and other investigating police officials.

The FIR alleges that Investigation Officer Iftikhar Tanoli prepared a fabricated site inspection report as part of the alleged effort to strengthen the case against the citizen.
It further alleges that Rs100,000 was transferred into the citizen’s bank account, with an attempt allegedly made to present the transaction as evidence against him.

According to the FIR, fabricated documents and false witnesses were also allegedly prepared to support the case.
The investigation reportedly uncovered alleged forgery and alterations to official records. The FIR details the alleged roles of the nominated police officials and other individuals in the matter.
Further investigation is underway to determine the circumstances surrounding the alleged false FIR and the involvement of the nominated suspects.
