The Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) closed higher on Wednesday, with the benchmark index gaining 464.53 points, or 0.26%, to settle at 180,311.21.

The market opened and traded between an intraday high of 180,901.26 and a low of 179,920.10, compared with the previous close of 179,846.68.
Trading activity remained strong, with total market volume reaching 744.24 million shares, while the value of traded shares stood at Rs32.19 billion. A total of 381,450 trades were recorded during the session.
Of the 563 stocks traded, 249 advanced, 211 declined and 103 remained unchanged, indicating a relatively mixed market despite the overall gain in the benchmark index.

Cnergyico PK Limited (CNERGY) topped the volume chart with 67.75 million shares traded. DS Industries Limited (DSIL) followed with 67.53 million shares, while Hascol Petroleum Limited (HASCOL) recorded 47.27 million shares.
Other actively traded stocks included WorldCall Telecom Limited (WTL) with 31.08 million shares, Trust Securities & Brokerage Limited (TSBL) with 27.95 million shares and Security Papers Limited (STPL) with 25.57 million shares.

Among the actively traded gainers, Thal Limited (THCCL) rose Rs3.09 to close at Rs74.25. Cnergyico PK Limited gained Rs0.27 to Rs13.11, while Hascol Petroleum Limited advanced Rs0.14 to Rs21.61.
On the declining side, DS Industries Limited fell Rs1.67 to Rs15.07, Security Papers Limited shed Rs0.20 to Rs9.51, while WorldCall Telecom Limited declined Rs0.03 to Rs1.20.
The benchmark’s close above the 180,000-point level reflected a modestly positive session, although the mixed market breadth indicated that gains remained uneven across the broader market.
