A senior police surgeon has raised questions over the post-mortem report of Wafflix owner Mir Raza Ali, saying some of the medical findings do not appear to match photographs of the victim’s body.

Speaking to local media in Karachi, Police Surgeon Dr Samia said there were apparent discrepancies between the post-mortem report and the photographs available to investigators.

“The photographs tell one story, while the post-mortem report says something else,” she said.

Dr Samia said several parts of Mir Raza Ali’s body appeared swollen and discoloured in the photographs.

According to her, these areas required a closer medical examination to determine whether the changes were related to injuries or other factors.

She also raised questions about the reported direction of the bullet, saying inconsistencies in the available information had left several questions unanswered.

The police surgeon further observed that decomposition appeared to be more pronounced around the face and upper portion of the body.

She said a detailed examination would be necessary to establish the exact nature of the injuries and determine whether they had any role in the death.

The latest remarks come as investigators continue examining the circumstances surrounding Mir Raza Ali’s death.

His body was found in Gulistan-e-Johar after he went missing from Karachi. Police have been reviewing CCTV footage, mobile phone data, forensic evidence and statements from people connected to the case.

His family has rejected the possibility of suicide and has maintained that he was murdered after being subjected to violence.

Police have previously recovered a weapon holster from the area where the body was found, while investigators have continued efforts to trace the weapon and determine what happened before the body was abandoned.

The comments by Dr Samia have added another layer to the investigation because the medical findings are expected to play an important role in determining the cause and manner of death.
