A total of 1,689 mobile phone thefts were reported in Karachi during June 2026, according to official data released by the Citizen Police Liaison Committee (CPLC).

Karachi witnessed a mixed trend in crime statistics between May and June 2026.
The Karachi crime comparison June 2026 shows overall improvement in most categories. However, two-wheeler theft increased sharply, becoming the only category to rise significantly.
Two-wheeler theft rose from 2,240 in May to 2,419 in June, an increase of 179 cases. This represents nearly an 8 per cent rise despite most other crimes declining.

Two-wheeler snatching, however, dropped from 445 to 374 cases, offering some relief. The data shows motorcycle-related crimes remain the city’s biggest challenge.
Mobile phone snatching decreased from 1,860 in May to 1,689 in June, representing a decline of 171 incidents, or approximately 9 per cent.
Four-wheeler snatching saw the most dramatic drop from 20 to just 8 cases, a 60 per cent decline. Four-wheeler theft also decreased slightly from 106 to 101 vehicles.

Homicide cases fell from 56 to 40 in June, a reduction of 16 murders. Extortion declined marginally from 10 to 9 cases. No kidnapping for ransom was reported in either month.
Meanwhile, bank robberies and dacoities dropped from 1 case in May to zero in June.

While most crime categories showed improvement, authorities must focus on the rising trend in two-wheeler theft.
Citizens are advised to secure their motorcycles with additional locks and tracking devices. The overall decline in serious crimes is a positive sign for public safety.
