Federal Minister for Finance and Revenue Muhammad Aurangzeb launched the InvestPak portal in Karachi, introducing a digital platform designed to help individual and corporate investors invest in government securities more conveniently.

The InvestPak Portal, developed by the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP), enables investors to purchase government securities online without visiting a bank branch.
The platform aims to simplify the investment process through a secure digital system.
Speaking at the launch ceremony, the finance minister said the government is committed to providing maximum facilitation to investors by expanding access to investment opportunities through digital solutions.

He said the portal has been introduced to encourage greater participation in government securities.
Aurangzeb said retail investors can now begin investing with as little as Rs5,000 using a mobile wallet such as JazzCash, allowing individuals to invest from home without visiting a financial institution.

He said the initiative is intended to attract more retail investors, particularly young people, as Pakistan continues to advance digital financial inclusion.
According to the minister, increasing participation by youth and Gen Z investors is also being witnessed in the Pakistan Stock Exchange.

The finance minister said the new platform would help deepen Pakistan’s capital market while supporting sustainable economic growth.
He added that the country’s economic indicators were improving and the government remained focused on ensuring long-term economic stability.
Responding to concerns regarding government borrowing, Aurangzeb said excessive dependence on commercial banks could create a crowding-out effect on private sector lending.
He said the government intends to gradually diversify its funding sources beyond the banking sector.

The minister added that broadening the investor base remains a key policy objective alongside accelerating Pakistan’s digital transformation and increasing retail participation in government securities.
Speaking at the ceremony, Jameel Ahmad said InvestPak offers a single digital platform for investor onboarding, opening IPS accounts, and investing in government securities.
He said the system has been designed to provide a faster, more transparent, and more accessible investment experience for both retail and corporate investors.
