The National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) has issued an updated schedule for CNIC and NICOP fees along with revised processing timelines, effective from April 7, 2026.
According to the update, Pakistani citizens can still obtain their first Computerized National Identity Card (CNIC) free of cost.

However, charges apply to new smart cards, renewals, and modifications under different service categories.
Identity Card (CNIC) Fees
New Smart Card
- Normal: Rs 750 (31 days)
- Urgent: Rs 1,500 (23 days)
- Executive: Rs 2,500 (9 days)
Renewal or Modification
- Normal: Rs 400 (31 days)
- Urgent: Rs 1,150 (23 days)
- Executive: Rs 2,150 (9 days)
Family Registration Certificate (FRC):
Under family and child registration services, the Family Registration Certificate (FRC) is available only in the executive category for Rs1,000, with a processing time of 24 hours.

The Child Registration Certificate (CRC), also known as B-Form, costs Rs50 under normal service with a 7-day timeline, while the executive service costs Rs500 with same-day processing.

For overseas Pakistanis, the National Identity Card for Overseas Pakistanis (NICOP) fees vary by region.
Zone A (USA, Europe, etc.)
- Normal: $39
- Urgent: $57
- Executive: $75
Zone B (Middle East, Africa)
- Normal: $20
- Urgent: $30
- Executives: $40
NADRA has also simplified procedures for age modification in NICOPs, making the process more efficient for applicants.

Officials noted that identity cards now play a broader role beyond identification, linking citizens to national systems such as healthcare and education through integrated data systems.
Additionally, citizens can update their personal information through the Pak-ID app, allowing remote renewal and modification of documents without visiting offices.
