The Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee (CRHC) announced that the moon of Shawwal was not sighted in Pakistan, confirming that Eid-ul-Fitr 2026 will be celebrated on Saturday, March 21.
The committee held its meeting in Islamabad to observe the lunar crescent. Similarly, zonal committees in major cities like Karachi, Lahore, and other regions convened at their respective headquarters to sight the moon.
After detailed observations, it was confirmed that the Shawwal crescent was not visible anywhere in the country.
Officials urged the public to follow the official announcement from the Ruet-e-Hilal Committee before making any preparations for Eid.
Religious scholars emphasized that Eid celebrations should be based on official sighting to maintain unity across the nation.
Eidul Fitr marks the end of Ramadan, the Islamic holy month of fasting.
