Google has announced the launch of the Google AI Professional Certificate in Pakistan, a new industry-recognized credential aimed at helping workers gain practical artificial intelligence skills and close the growing AI training gap.
The program focuses on AI fluency and real-world applications, allowing professionals to learn how to integrate artificial intelligence tools into everyday workplace tasks rather than just studying theoretical concepts.
Addressing the Growing AI Skills Gap
As artificial intelligence rapidly transforms the global economy, companies are increasingly looking for workers who understand how to use AI effectively.
However, recent research conducted by Ipsos and Google highlights a major training gap in the workforce. The study found that 70% of managers believe an AI-trained workforce is essential for business success, but only 14% of employees have been offered formal AI training.

Google says the new certificate aims to bridge this gap by giving professionals practical experience with AI tools used in modern workplaces.
Hands-On Learning with Google AI Tools
The program follows a “Learn by Doing” approach, featuring more than 20 hands-on activities. Learners will receive three months of free access to Google AI Pro, allowing them to practice using advanced AI models directly within familiar tools.
Participants will work with AI features integrated into services such as Gmail, Google Docs, Google Sheets, and Gemini.
Six Courses and a Final Capstone Project
The certificate includes six courses and a final capstone project designed by Google experts and AI practitioners.
The curriculum includes:
- AI Fundamentals: Understanding AI concepts and effective prompting
- AI for Brainstorming and Planning: Creating project timelines and planning strategies
- AI for Research and Insights: Using tools like Deep Research and NotebookLM to analyze ideas
- AI for Writing and Communication: Preparing presentations and adapting messages for stakeholders
- AI for Content Creation: Producing visual assets, videos, and presentations
- AI for Data Analysis: Creating visualizations and formulas using Gemini in Sheets
The capstone project focuses on app building, teaching participants how to create functional applications without traditional coding through a technique known as “vibe coding.”
Flexible Learning for Professionals
The program is designed for busy professionals and can be completed at the learner’s own pace in less than 10 hours. Each module provides a shareable digital certificate that learners can display on professional platforms like LinkedIn.
Google said the curriculum was built using real-world job market data and validated by leading employers to ensure that the skills taught match current workplace demands.
