Italy has announced plans to issue 10,500 work visas specifically for skilled Pakistani workers, aiming to strengthen labor ties between the two countries.

Additionally, Pakistani citizens with diplomatic passports will be allowed visa-free entry into Italy.

The announcement came after a meeting between Pakistan’s Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi and Italian Interior Minister Matteo Piantedosi.

Discussions also covered joint efforts to combat narcotics trafficking and terrorism, along with measures to curb illegal immigration and human smuggling more effectively.

Mr. Naqvi briefed his Italian counterpart on Pakistan’s ongoing initiatives, such as tighter monitoring at airports and along maritime borders to reduce illegal migration.
