Karachi has expanded the routes for its double-decker bus service, aiming to improve connectivity across key areas of the city.

The expansion was announced by the Sindh government under the Peoples Bus Service, which continues to modernize urban transport and provide safer commuting alternatives for citizens.
According to transport authorities, the newly extended route officially began operations.
The iconic double-decker buses will now run between Malir Halt and Tower, connecting key commercial and residential areas across the city.
Officials said the route expansion will benefit thousands of daily commuters who rely on public transport to reach offices, markets, and educational institutions.
The extended route is expected to reduce travel time and offer more reliable transport services.
Sindh Senior Minister and Transport Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon had directed authorities to complete preparations for extending the double-decker bus service.

“The double-decker buses will offer citizens a quality travel experience. They will operate from Model Colony to Tower and will prove to be a major convenience for commuters,” the minister remarked.
He also revealed that the Sindh government has imported 39 buses from China at a total cost of Rs. 3 billion, including five double-decker buses and 34 electric buses.
According to the minister, the initiative aims to provide Karachi residents with a safer, more comfortable, and reliable public transport system.
