Authorities have announced a traffic management plan following a large fire that engulfed the Gul Plaza shopping centre on MA Jinnah Road, causing major disruption in the city.
The fire, which broke out late Saturday night, rapidly spread through hundreds of shops in the multi‑storey plaza. At least six people have died and many others are injured or unaccounted for, officials reported.

Due to ongoing firefighting and rescue operations, MA Jinnah Road has been closed to regular traffic between Anarkali Chowk and Central Plaza.
Traffic authorities urged citizens to strictly follow diversion plans and avoid unnecessary travel in the affected areas.
Traffic Diversion Details
At Capri Chowk, vehicles travelling from Numaish towards Tower are being diverted left from Capri Cinema, passing through Empress Market, Regal, Burns Road, and Fresco, then taking a right from Dilpasand to rejoin MA Jinnah Road.

From Fresco Chowk, commuters heading towards Mazar-e-Quaid are advised to go straight to Regal, then take a left from Empress Market, pass Naz Plaza, and reconnect with MA Jinnah Road.
At Uncle Sarya Hospital Chowk, traffic moving from Garden and Karachi Zoo towards the mobile market can turn left and proceed via Nasra School, Capri, and Sadar.

From Saeed Manzil, motorists travelling from Jamia Cloth Market towards Mazar-e-Quaid should turn left at Murad Khan Chowk, move along Nishtar Road, pass Karachi Zoo, and continue via the light signal to their destination.
At Garden Chowk, vehicles coming from Sadar Regal Chowk and Mobile Market can proceed straight from Bambino Chowk, pass the street beside Star City Mall, turn left near Karachi Grammar School, then go via Naz Plaza and take a right.

Authorities have also announced that no parking will be allowed at Amma Tower and the Mobile Market on Abdullah Haroon Road until further notice.
