Karachi’s air pollution has improved slightly on Wednesday evening, with several areas entering “Unhealthy for Sensitive Groups” category.

Data collected at 6:00pm highlighted lowered particulate matter (PM2.5) levels, with multiple areas are in moderate thresholds, meanwhile some areas may raise concerns for residents, commuters, children, elderly citizens, and people with respiratory conditions.

The worst air quality in Karachi was recorded in the Garden area, which hit a PM2.5 level of 172. This places it firmly in the “Unhealthy” category on the US AQI scale, posing risks to all residents.

Other major areas also reported concerning readings. Mauripur recorded a level of 151, Shahra-e-Faisal Bagh was at 152, and Gulshan-e-Iqbal Block 14 reached 138.

Moderately better conditions were found in Gulistan-e-Johar (108), University Road (107), and Orangi Town (129). Despite being lower, these levels still exceed the safe limit of 100 for sensitive individuals, indicating widespread pollution across the city.
