Pakistan and Bangladesh have taken a major step towards strengthening educational ties by finalizing a new academic cooperation agreement that will allow hundreds of Bangladeshi students to study in Pakistan.
According to Geo News, the agreement’s first phase will provide fully funded scholarships to 500 Bangladeshi students, who will be enrolled in undergraduate programmes at various Pakistani universities across different cities.

Under the scheme, selected students will receive comprehensive scholarships covering tuition and related academic expenses, enabling them to pursue higher education in Pakistan without financial burden.
The scholarship programme has been named after Allama Iqbal, reflecting the shared cultural and intellectual heritage of the two countries.
Reports further stated that a large number of Bangladeshi students appeared in entry tests conducted as part of the selection process.

These tests were organized by the HEC in several Bangladeshi cities, including Dhaka, Chattogram, and Rajshahi.
During the entry test process, Bangladeshi students reportedly welcomed Pakistani officials warmly.
Many students were seen interacting with the visiting delegation and taking photographs, highlighting the positive response to the initiative.
