During this visit, a meeting between the two chief ministers was planned for Monday. However, the meeting was cancelled at the last moment, just a day before the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) public rally in Karachi.
Media reports highlighted that the Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah conveyed his apology to the KP chief minister after the cancellation.
However, no official reason was shared publicly for calling off the meeting, but the development has gained political attention due to the timing of the PTI rally.

The cancellation comes amid political tensions surrounding PTI’s public gathering in Karachi. After receiving permission from the Sindh government, PTI announced that it would not hold its rally inside Bagh Jinnah, which was the originally approved venue.
Following the government’s approval process, PTI leaders clarified their revised plan. PTI Sindh President Haleem Adil Sheikh said that the party would now hold the rally outside one of the gates of Mazar-e-Quaid instead of inside Bagh Jinnah.

In his video statement, Haleem Adil Sheikh said that PTI waited until 5pm for the final permit. However, he added that it was not possible to make arrangements late at night. He described the situation as “not God’s will” and said the party had no choice but to change the location.
The PTI leader maintained that holding a rally outside the gate of Mazar-e-Quaid would not block roads or create public inconvenience. He also reiterated the party’s commitment to holding a peaceful public gathering.
