Cold weather is expected to intensify as Karachi temperature single digit conditions approach, Pakistan Meteorological Department said.

The PMD warned the residents about significantly colder nights expected during the upcoming winter weekend.

According to the Met Office spokesperson, minimum temperatures in the city could fall as low as nine degrees Celsius on the night between Saturday and Sunday.

Officials said from Thursday onward, night temperatures are expected to remain between ten and eleven degrees Celsius before dropping further as the weekend approaches closer.

Persistent north easterly winds blowing across Karachi and nearby areas are expected to make conditions feel colder, reducing comfort during late night and early morning hours.

Despite the cold spell, the meteorological department has ruled out rainfall in Karachi and other Sindh districts over the next ten days according officials forecast.
