What happens after changing your Gmail address
Google has outlined several important rules and limitations that users should understand before making the change:
Your old Gmail address will remain active as an alias, meaning emails sent to both addresses will still reach your inbox.
All existing account data, including emails, photos, messages, and files, will remain safe and unchanged.
You will still be able to sign in to Google services such as Gmail, Maps, YouTube, Google Play, and Drive using either the old or new email address.
Restrictions users must keep in mind
After switching to a new Gmail address, users will not be able to create another new Gmail account for the next 12 months.

During this period, the newly changed email address cannot be deleted either.
Google says these measures are necessary to maintain account security and prevent misuse of the feature.
This update marks a major shift in Google’s long-standing policy and gives Gmail users more control over their email identity without losing access to their data or services.
